A group of middle school students pose for a photo in front of the NH Statehouse.

Hello all,

The (slightly) warmer temperatures have brought with them an increase in energy and excitement around LMS! We all appreciate the fresh air and extra daylight, and we're ready to make the last few months of the school year full of meaningful and engaging activities.

This week, we were delighted to welcome LHS seniors to LMS as a part of their Senior Day of Service. All of the students that visited brought a sense of maturity and growth that was encouraging for our teachers and staff to be a part of. The future is bright with these folks leading the way!

Be Well,

Tom

A middle school student builds a structure out of spaghetti and marshmallows

Last week, we were delighted to welcome so many of our LMS families and students in for conferences. The discussions that take place on these busy days serve to strengthen the connection between our school and our families, and we value the time we're able to spend together. Our students work so hard and grow in different ways each day, and it's a pleasure to step back for a moment and recognize them, their work, and what we can do to work together to help support them.

Thank you for having a look at this week’s LMS Express!

I’d like to take a moment to shout out a few of our students who traveled to the American Choral Directors Association Eastern Division Conference in Rhode Island last week. All of our LMS musicians work hard and sound great, and this particular group of students has taken it to the next level with their dedication and passion for music and performing. You can read more information below about their journey, along with some content from our LMS Winter Carnival (which was a blast despite its weather-induced brevity), pictures from our last 7th & 8th grade dance/activity night, information about our upcoming Job Shadow Day, pictures of LMS Drama Club practices, math, science, sculpture, and a boatload of other LMS "stuff".

Students pose for a photo at sunrise outside a school

LMS teachers and students picked up after vacation right where we left off - with engaging activity in and out of the classroom. We all greatly appreciate the energy our students bring to school with them everyday - we are lucky to have such a great group of students!

School is closed on Monday to celebrate the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. On Friday morning's announcements, an LMS student shared a bit of information about Reverend King, and shared this quote of his "The time is always right to do what is right".

LMS Students Create New Downtown Mural

The newest public art installation in downtown Lebanon began as a student project at Lebanon Middle School. A mural of a school bus in the Lebanon Downtown Tunnel was created by LMS art students under the direction of art teacher Daniel Masi, with support from STEM teacher Rob Robbirds. Installed in late December, the mural features interchangeable panel “windows” that will be updated regularly by students in Masi’s Mural Lab elective, making it a living, evolving artwork.
