Five students pose with awards they received

Hello all,

Here we are - the last week! We look forward to celebrating our students this week with distribution of LMS Pride Awards and the 8th Grade Recognition Ceremony. Our students have worked hard this year, and they've earned summer!

Please keep in mind that the last day of school is this Thursday, June 11th. We will have an 11:30 dismissal that day.

Be Well,

Tom

Students participate in a watershed design process ot help illustrate how water moves through different types of landscapes

Hello all,

I'd like to start with a big thank you to our students for their hard work on the SAS testing we've been doing these past couple of weeks. Standardized testing is not the preferred activity of just about any of our students, but we can see the effort and focus they've been demonstrating. And we appreciate it!

We are squarely in "end-of-year" and "eye on next year" mode at LMS. Transition meetings between grade level teams and teachers are happening, schedules and rosters are being worked on, and the excitement is high! I hope everyone has a restful and meaningful weekend.

Friendly reminder that school is closed on Monday in recognition of Memorial Day.

Be Well,

Tom

Hello all,

May is an exciting time at LMS - preparations are well underway for the plethora of "end-of-year" activities that students and staff look forward to each year. At the same time, classrooms are "clicking on all cylinders" at this point of the year, and teachers continue to work very hard to make the last few weeks engaging and rigorous as always.

Speaking of our teachers, I'd like to take this opportunity to express my own appreciation for all of the educators at LMS. This was Teacher Appreciation Week, and the outpouring of expressions of appreciation from the community, and our LMS PTO in particular, demonstrate just how much the care and dedication of our teachers is felt. Thank you, teachers!

Be Well,

Tom

Hello all,

LMS staff and students earned spring break! This past week was chock-full of field trips, presentations, and fun activities. Our Staff vs Students basketball game (rescheduled from our shortened Winter Carnival in February) happened on Friday afternoon, and it was a fun time as always. The Gymnastics shows and Drama Club plays were just incredible! I hope everyone has the type of week off of school that they need. We'll see everyone back for the last week of April and the "final push" as we wrap up the 2025-2026 school year strong.

Be Well,

Tom

Hello all,

The (slightly) warmer temperatures have brought with them an increase in energy and excitement around LMS! We all appreciate the fresh air and extra daylight, and we're ready to make the last few months of the school year full of meaningful and engaging activities.

This week, we were delighted to welcome LHS seniors to LMS as a part of their Senior Day of Service. All of the students that visited brought a sense of maturity and growth that was encouraging for our teachers and staff to be a part of. The future is bright with these folks leading the way!

Be Well,

Tom
