The building opened for 5th through 8th grade students in 2012-2013 after the closing of Seminary Hill School and Lebanon Junior High School.  

During the first academic year 2012-2013, a number of revisions were identified to ensure a smoother function of the building in the future.

Revisions were made to the program.  5th and 6th grades remained unchanged, but 7th and 8th grade changes included the creation of three different academic teams with looping for 7th and 8th graders where 7th graders would remain with the same core content teachers for 8th grade.

At the conclusion of the 2013-2014 academic year, Mr. Andrew Mellow retired leaving the building under the leadership of one principal, Martha Langill.

Some say that year three is always the easiest for a new role or job.  Lebanon Middle School seemed to find its stride in 2014-2015.

In fall of 2015 and having completed three full academic years, Lebanon Middle School underwent a program audit conducted by the New England League of Middle Schools (NELMS).  As part of this audit, staff, students, and parents were given the opportunity to provide feedback through surveys and focus groups. The report from this audit was extensive and covered all aspects of the middle school program.  The strengths and weaknesses noted in the plan were shared with the various groups and led to the development of a strategic plan for the middle school. In the first phase of this plan we focused on climate and culture including a new mission statement and reconfiguration of teams.

The first group of 8th graders that had attended LMS since 5th grade were celebrated and recognized as they then moved on to Lebanon High School.  

As the School embarked on the 2016-2017 academic year, we entered the first year with our new mission statement and implemented our core values:

The School enjoyed a stable year with little change from the previous academic year.

The School continued to focus on teaming and being a middle school with an emphasis on the social/emotional learning of all students.

Ms. Martha Langill retired from the District after 30 years at the conclusion of this academic year.  

The School had a leadership change at the start of 2017-2018 when John D’Entremont took over as principal after serving as assistant principal in 2016-2017.

The School created a Parent Advisory council for parents to participate in discussions about programming on a regular basis.

Recess was introduced at all grade levels.  Prior to this academic year, only 5th and 6th grade had recess.  

A new website was rolled out for the District and School.

Enrollment has slowly increased in the building since opening growing approximately 2-3% per year.

The School had the same administration from the 2017-2018 academic year. Enrollment actually fell for the first time since the opening of LMS.

Classrooms were moved for this year in the building to accommodate for a team focus rather than a junior high department focus. All teams now have a dedicated space for team happenings in the building.

The School moved to 5 lunches from 4 to accommodate the number of students in the cafeteria.

LMS moved to online grade reporting and no longer printed report cards.

The School began using Twitter @LMSLebNH as a way to communicate.
