Announcements

A number of LMS students were lucky enough to share a meal with veterans this week. Students and vets both appreciated the opportunity to talk, laugh, and learn about each other. Thanks to all the folks that helped make this day possible. With Thanksgiving right around the corner, this week was another reminder that we have a lot to be grateful for.

As you'll see, students and staff continue to be busy with activities during and after the school day! Thanks for having a look at this edition of the LMS Express.

On behalf of all the teachers and staff of LMS, I'd like to thank all the students and their families that took some time to attend our Open House on Thursday. There was a great turnout and lots of smiling faces. We value these moments when families get to have a look around our school where incredible things happen everyday. It was plain to see that our students take a lot of pride in their school, their work, and in their relationships with each other and with the adults in the building. We had some alumni visit as well, which is of course always a treat!

Fall sports are wrapping up, basketball will be starting soon clubs & activities are in full swing, and things are good at LMS! We're looking forward to having our parent/guardian-teacher conferences in a couple of weeks. Please note that we'll be having an 11:30 dismissal on Thursday, October 30th, and there will be no school on Friday, October 31st.

It's been a busy couple of weeks at LMS! The sunshine on Unity Day was abundant, and students in all grades participated in a host of outdoor activities planned by our dedicated teachers. This week was our last "normal" week for a while, with two 4-day weeks up next. Our Open House (flier below) will take place on Thursday, October 16th, and all are invited to attend and have their students show them around our awesome school. The Book Fair will run that week and will be open that evening as well!

17 days of school in the books! As you'll see, there are so many great things happening at LMS all the time. I personally witness small acts of kindness and compassion on the parts of our students each day, and it's an honor and a pleasure to be around them and be a part of their school experience. This is, of course, in addition to the hard work that our teachers pour into their classes to help students reach their potential in all kinds of ways.

With Picture Day and our first round of NWEA testing behind us, sights are set on more co-curriculars getting going, Unity Day this Friday, and lots of other great stuff!
